A California-based electric scooter sharing company — Bird — is landing in Memphis. The company announced Thursday, June 14, that its Birds will be available in Downtown, Midtown, Uptown, South City and Cooper Young, and it plans to scale its fleet to more areas as ridership grows. The scooters go up to 15 mph, and their batteries will last for about 15 miles on one charge. Sources say Bird's scooters will be flocking to Memphis streets very soon.
